The most environmentally sound building is the one that's already built. I don't care about views. I care about birds, fish and orcas which humans are bent on eliminating from the face of the earth in the quest of money. My objection to this plan lies in the additions which are ugly, don't match the existing structure and will be constructed of resin impregnated gypsum and concrete and PVC and other plastics which will last about fifty years and turn into a pile of toxic waste. If we ever see the term "sustainable", count on it being anything but. This is going to be a hard appeal because SEPA and other rules never consider the cradle to grave impacts of materials and methods.Harry Branchnoreply@blogger.com
